Mary O. Moran
Mary helps individuals, families, and businesses navigate important legal matters with care and efficiency. Her practice focuses on strategic estate planning and administration, residential and commercial real estate transactions, and comprehensive corporate representation—guiding business clients from formation through growth, mergers and acquisitions, financing, and exit strategies. She is also a licensed Title Insurance Agent in Pennsylvania.
Mary blends big-firm experience with a small-town approach. Before joining Attorney Howell, Mary practiced in the Corporate Department of a large Boston based firm, where she handled complex transactions including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity financings, commercial lending, and corporate governance. She also advised financial institutions on regulatory matters, reorganizations and acquisitions, and private placements.
Mary earned her J.D., cum laude, from New England Law | Boston, where she was recipient of the Justice Sandra Day O’Connor Merit Full Scholarship. While there, she served as Executive Literary Editor of the New England Law Review, in which her legal note on Amazon’s Flex Program was published. She graduated with a certificate in Corporate Compliance and Risk Management.
Mary graduated magna cum laude from Dickinson College, where she played basketball and was inducted into the national academic honor society of Phi Beta Kappa.
As a sixth generation Honesdale resident, Mary graduated magna cum laude from Honesdale High School in 2013.
Deeply committed to her community, Mary serves as the Pennsylvania Bar Association Delegate for Wayne County, volunteers as Assistant Coach for the Honesdale Varsity Girls Basketball Team, helps lead the Honesdale Missy Basketball Association as co-president, and sits on the Wayne County Sports Hall of Fame Selections Committee.
Outside the office, Mary enjoys life with her husband, two daughters, and their dog Wrigley. She’s an avid athlete, ready to join any game, and values time spent with loved ones and on her family’s farm.
Alfred J. Howell
Of Counsel
Alfred J. Howell, born in Honesdale, PA on August 27th, 1939. After Graduating from Honesdale High School in 1957, Alfred studied at Dickinson College then went on to study law at Dickinson School of Law and graduated in 1964.
Alfred has held many positions in civil organizations. He has been the solicitor for the Wayne Economic Development Corporation since 1981. He also held the solicitor position for the Borough of Honesdale from 1981-1997. In 1981 and 1982 Alfred was the President of the Wayne County Bar Association and has been a member of both the Wayne County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
Other organizations Alfred has been involved with are the Honesdale Area Jaycees, where he held the position of president. He is also active in the Honesdale Lions Club. In 2007 he was elected as an inductee into the Wayne County Sports Hall of Fame for distance running.
Alfred is an approved attorney for all local, state, and national banking institutions.
